VBS was great this year. The kids sang and danced and learned about the bible. This is a very important part of our ministry here at Hickory Street and we are very proud of those who make themselves available to help out in this area, year after year.
This past Saturday we had a benefit fish fry to show our appreciation for our music minister, Mike Bowling. Mike has been such a blessing to this church for many years and we are proud to have him here. As you know Mike recently sustained a severe break in his left leg and is still in the midst of dealing with this. We are very
thankful to all those who came out to show your support for Mike. A special thanks goes out to Joel Osburn and Joe Ward for helping with this event.
A big thank you goes out to the HSBC Choir, who spent hours practicing their Easter program in order to bring us the message of salvation through song. Their
performance was inspiring. Everyone involved did an incredible job.
Our church has begun a new ministry program to reach the lives in our community with the word of God. We are calling this new outreach program "Go With God". This past
Sunday, the members of this ministry were called up front, where the church prayed over them before sending them out into the surrounding neighborhoods to witness to
others about God's love.
Our hopes for this program are to show the people in our community that we are a church who cares for them; not only to help our church grow, but more importantly, we
hope to build the Kingdom of God, by telling others about the salvation which is offered through Jesus.
